Workshops offer more time and opportunities to delve into the why.
When you're in the flow of a class you can get swept away but you might also find questions coming to mind: am I doing this right? Is this what I'm meant to feel? What's the intention of this posture? What do I even do with this block? Being in the flow the questions barely come to mind before you move on to the next and the questions are left unanswered. Or in yin, there's such a stillness in the room you feel too self-conscious to voice your questions.
Workshops offer the time and space in which to explore, experiment and ask all the questions! My workshops focus on a functional approach to yoga giving you time and guidance to allow you to explore and adapt the pose to you rather than you to the pose.
